Integrating Disciplines and Processes to Create Safer Mobility Experiences

To address the increased complexity of its smart mobility solutions, Bosch Car Multimedia, a division within Bosch Mobility Solutions, needed to transition to a collaborative and integrated engineering approach where each discipline sees, in real time, how other domains impact the end-to-end process.

Based on a successful proof of concept to develop a head-up display, the model-based systems engineering approach will be followed using Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE® platform.

“We wanted to analyze the potential of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodology on a collaborative platform. Due to the many years of cooperation with Dassault Systèmes, the 3DEXPERIENCE platform was the logical choice. It was important to be able to bring distributed teams together and integrate existing systems of each individual discipline into the platform, and this is what we set out to demonstrate with this proof of concept,” Bernd Hirt, group manager core function mechanics at Bosch Car Multimedia, said.

All disciplines involved in the development seamlessly collaborated together to create a holistic digital model that Bosch Car Multimedia were able to test and validate without the need for physical prototypes. This accelerated development time, reduced costs, and provided them with full end-to-end traceability.
