Graphic visualization of ENOVIA data

The Graphic Reporting component adds graphical visualization ability within ENOVIA’s business applications, assisting users in making more accurate project and product decisions.

There are several process areas in the ENOVIA applications that are commonly communicated and treated as graphical reports, for example Gantt Charts in Program Central. The Graphical Report component makes it possible to view for example the project work breakdown structures in Program Central in the Gantt graphical notation, with interactive features such as clickable links to detailed task information.

When the need arises for more graphical report capabilities, the underlying framework of the out-of-the-box components can be used to configure charts of different kinds out of any information in ENOVIA. The framework is well documented and the existing report components come complete with all source code and thus serve as perfect templates to start from.

Use Matrices in ENOVIA

Having ENOVIA business objects in both columns and rows provides new possibilities for comparing, visualizing and editing of important data, providing a better overview for decision-making.

The Grid Browser introduces the possibility of having different information objects alongside of each other and seeing their respective content in a two-dimensional matrix. This makes it easy to compare, for example, different Products and see the total Feature content in the product portfolio. It is also possible to create and edit dependencies directly from the grid view, where the different data values are illustrated in color in order to make the view as easy to understand as possible. Editing the data in the grid is possible just by clicking in the appropriate intersection between a column and a row. It is also possible to set all values in a column or row to the same value, by using the multi-edit functionality.

Work more efficiently with IEF-based integrations

The MCAD Optimizer Component enhances the usability of MCAD integrations based on the ENOVIA Integration Exchange Framework (IEF). This is achieved by simplifying the GUI and reducing the number of dialog windows and mouse-clicks.

Focusing on the CAD Designer

Designer Central is the portal to MCAD information managed in ENOVIA. The MCAD Optimizer extends the functionality of the Design Center and provides a MCAD-centric view of the data from ENOVIA. A MCAD assembly structure is presented in a familiar way, similar to the design tree in most MCAD tools. While viewing the design tree, the CAD designer can access all MCAD functions directly, eliminating the need for opening additional windows. Publishing a large design can be done in seconds rather than hours using the multi sign/promote function.

The MCAD Optimizer also includes a homepage for the designer, providing easy access to recent designs, greatly reducing the need for database searches. All common MCAD operations are available from the homepage. Previewing images for easy recognition of designs are only a mouse-click away.

How does it work?

The MCAD Optimizer is an add-on to the Structure Browser Component leveraging the same navigational capabilities and dynamic GUI. The administrator can easily configure new views to display MCAD information according to company requirements. MCAD Optimizer is MCAD neutral, and works with all MCAD tools supported by the ENOVIA.

Simplify working with documents

The File Manager Component enhances ENOVIA’s document management functions by making it easier to edit MS Office documents. It automatically embeds and updates document metadata and reduces the steps in the check-in, checkout process.

The File Manager Component enhances ENOVIA’s document management functions by making it easier to edit documents. This is done by reducing the steps in the check-in, check-out process, when working with a document from within the Matrix user interface. Moreover, for MS Office documents, the File Manager Component is automatically embedding and updating document metadata.

When a user selects a document action inside ENOVIA and the File Manager is installed. The File Manager Component takes control behind the scenes and manages all of the steps for check-in, check-out and up-dating of the relevant metadata. Users always work in the ENOVIA interface and the MS Office tools, so there is no learning curve associated with using the File Manager Component.

Make decisions in the field

The Technia Personal Browser Component expands the reach of ENOVIA information by making it available offline. Users can refer to product information, engineering requirements, and documents regardless of where they are or how they are connected to the network.

Many critical decisions regarding a product’s future are made outside the design and engineering offices and away from the ENOIVA environment.

  • Field service technicians consult documentation, drawings and structures when deciding how to repair or replace faulty parts.
  • Managers share product structures and documentation with suppliers without giving them total access to the ENOVIA environment.
  • Salespeople quickly refer to product structures and marketing documentation when planning their customer meetings.

At times like these, decision makers do not want to be bound to the network. Instead, they want to package the full power of ENOVIA and take it with them.

If they can’t, they waste time gathering information manually or risk making uninformed decisions and therefore costly mistakes.

The Personal Browser Component puts ENOVIA data in a compact, easy-to-use, portable package that mimics the functionality of the online application. It allows users to select the information they need and refer to it anywhere. It maintains ENOVIA security and access rules so that critical information cannot fall into the wrong hands.

How does it work?

Users select objects in the Structure Browser Component or in the standard ENOVIA interface and click “Personal Browser.” The Personal Browser component takes over and packages their selections and stores them in a portable format. The Personal Browser interface is similar to the Structure Browser interface so there is virtually no learning curve. Users browse the structure; offline can see its details and have access to all documents, images and drawings.

Create professionally formatted reports in ENOVIA

How should we prioritize change requests? Which resources should we allocate to our change plan? These are just two of the many decisions that need to be made throughout the product life cycle. In order to make the right decisions users need to extract and analyze information from ENOVIA. Whether it is a project team in a status meeting or an individual working alone, users need to present information that is up to date, organized and easy to share. The information must be professionally formatted and easy to read so that it can be shared inside or outside the organization.

The Technia Report Generator Component creates standard, formatted reports for all objects across the breadth of the ENOVIA platform. Users can adhere to corporate standards and increase professionalism by embedding company headers, footers, logos and other branding objects in their reports. The dynamic content from standard ENOVIA printer friendly pages can also be re-organized to make it easier to read and analyze.

The Report Generator Component extends the functionality of ENOVIA’s printer friendly pages by allowing users to create richly formatted standard reports. TVC Report Generator is sold as ENOVIA RPT for ENOVIA V6 2010 and later ENOVIA releases.

Navigate, build and edit structures quickly and easily in ENOVIA

The Structure Browser Component enhances the ENOVIA standard interface by providing a fully interactive visual representation of any structures and flat list of items. Examples of where to use the Structure Browser is in areas such as product, project, apparel and engineering structures.

The Structure Browser Component is a powerful and easy to use tool that is increasing user acceptance, improving efficiency and reducing implementation time.

Structure Browser has been developed and improved over 10 years with the focus to simplify the daily life of ENOVIA users.

XBOM Manager Component

Creation of Baselines and management of multiple structures.
The XBOM Manager component delivers advanced baseline capabilities that can be used for a variety of purposes, for example handling of As Manufactured, As Delivered and As Maintained structures. In addition to the structure management functions from Structure Browser, the XBOM Manager also contains structure comparisons and baseline management functions that together provide a powerful foundation for advanced structure handling in any ENOVIA application.

TVC Mobile Access

TVC Mobile Access will give you access to your ENOVIA system from the same mobile device you use when responding to emails or browsing for information on the internet when you are on the move. It will enable secure access to ENOVIA data from your mobile device when you are on the field and the possibility to review and approve business critical issues while travelling.
